Description
Our Orvieto & Bagnoregio Shore Excursion will begin as your English Speaking Driver picks you up at your accommodation in Rome or the Rome airport or train station. He will greet you and chauffeur you to the beautiful town of Civita di Bagnoregio, while answering any questions you may have. As you arrive at this incredible town, you will admire it from afar noting that the town is indeed miraculous. You will need to cross a bridge by foot, as cars cannot enter the special hill town. Walk on clouds as you visit the intriguing town, the “Floating City”. As you reach the center of town, you will enjoy a lovely walk to explore the history and culture of this small antique town. The panoramic views from the edge of town will take your breath away as you witness the stunning beauty of the hills and mountains that surround this “floating city”. After a wonderful morning, you will be chauffeured to a local trattoria in the beautiful town of Orvieto, where you will indulge in a four course lunch where you will dine on that most incredible flavors and local specialties including wild boar, porcini mushrooms and chestnuts. After lunch, you will enjoy a visit to Orvieto, an amazing Italian hill town that also offers incredible panoramic views that will leave you awestruck. You will visit the Cathedral constructed with gothic architecture in 1263 that is home to beautiful frescoes, paintings and sculptures. Maestro Andrea Bocelli performed a wonderful show here in 2017 on July 4. The beautiful background of the performance was the duomo and the incredible vistas surrounding it. The voice of the Maestro rang throughout the town and the surrounding areas as many people came, even from the United States of America to celebrate their independence day with the voice of the Maestro! Continuing on your tour of this wonderful town, you will visit the famous Well of Saint Patrick and even discover the history of the ancient Etruscans. At the end of your magnificent Orvieto Day Tour, your English Speaking Driver will chauffeur you back to your cruise ship.
